My name is Susie Western-Hicks. I am the proprietor of Maserof Kennels, alongside my husband Andrew.

We have been running Maserof Kennels since June of 2014, having taken over the long-standing and successful business from the previous owners.

We both grew up with dogs, horses and cats so animals have always been a massive part of our lives.

In 2001 I went to a local Rescue Centre where I instantly fell in love with, and adopted, a small Lurcher called Jack. Within a year I had rescued another Lurcher called Harry. This started my love affair with sighthounds. I became interested in Greyhounds, following research in to the conditions that racing Greyhounds often have to endure. I adopted an ex-racing Greyhound in the UK followed by two rescue Whippets.

Since moving to Spain I have become passionate about the plight of the Spanish Greyhound (Galgo) and have since adopted two Galgos.
In all we have four rescue dogs of our own; the two Spanish Galgos from Galgos Del Sol (the Galgos rescue centre near Murcia) as well as two Whippets that we brought to Spain with us from the UK.

We are passionate about caring for animals and we conscientiously take pride in providing the highest quality service and care our clients should expect, building on the solid foundations developed throughout the years here at Maserof Kennels.

Our philosophy means that your pet is treated with the same love, care and respect as our own pets whilst they are with us here at Maserof Kennels. We do our utmost to ensure that your pets are contented and happy during their stay. We personally look after your pets and thank you for trusting us to care for them whilst you are away.

The best part of our job is the chance to play, groom and interact with our clients’ dogs.
Seeing them enjoy themselves whilst getting to know their personalities is so rewarding. We are always delighted when the dogs can’t wait to see us on arrival and are looking forward to their stay as much as we are looking forward to looking after them.
